The changes to the draw implemented in 2010 also affected the Euromillions prize breakdown with the addition of a jackpot pool cap. Previously the jackpot would only rollover 11 times, if the jackpot on the 12th draw had not been won the prize would be shared out and down to the next winning prize tier on the breakdown table.
Since the introduction of the new Euromillions Tuesday draw we have witnessed larger jackpot prizes much more often and a maximum amount the euromillions is allowed to get to, with the new jackpot pool cap rule when the Jackpot reaches €185 Million it will stay at this amount until it is won!
The money collected from ticket sales meant for topping up the jackpot prize fund will be put into the next winning prize tier down – “5 main numbers + 1 Lucky Star”
